The Department of Veterinary Public Health, KNPCVS, Shirwal

Department of Veterinary Public Health was established as per the Veterinary Council of India (VCI) MSVE 1994 Regulations and later renamed as Department of Veterinary Public Health & Epidemiology as per the VCI MSVE 2016 Regulations. Teaching, research and extension are the three mandates of the department. This department offers undergraduate and post graduate courses in the field of zoonoses, food hygiene, food safety, environmental hygiene, and epidemiology. Two years M.V.Sc. degree program is being offered by the department since 2010 and 14 students has successfully completed M.V.Sc. from this department. Molecular epidemiology of food borne pathogens and antimicrobial resistance is a focused area of research of the department.

The development of this website and android application is an initiative of the department to spread awareness about the importance of one health and zoonotic diseases that spread from pet animals like dogs and cats.
